INTERNATIONAL JPIC ENCOUNTER 2007

GUATEMALA
June 18 – July 12, 2007

JPIC activities

The foundation of our identity

What we are... How we live...
How we relate with reality around us...

By our lifestyle and in all our works and ministries we want to BE A LIVING PROCLAMATION of the God of JESUS.

A God who is LIFE and HOPE
A God who is JUSTICE and COMPASSION
A God who is PEACE and RECONCILIATION
A God who is CREATOR, who continues creating life and harmony in all creation.

The “spiritual” emphasis of our life as followers of Jesus makes us look at the concrete reality of the world from the view of the cause of Jesus, and drives us to live and to act like Jesus. Everything that we do is always motivated and inspired by the way of Jesus. The spiritual cannot be divided from who we are and what we do

concretely.

JPIC as the foundation of our life touches all aspects of our life: documents (the result of discernment about where we are and where we are going), our community life, programs of formation (how we are continuously converted together) , apostolates (the message) and actions; poverty or exclusion.

JPIC Priorities as Institute

  • CONSCIENTIZATION OF OUR REGIONS

  • RECONCILIATION AND NON-VIOLENCE

  • Art. 9 of Japan’s constitutions: “not to possess, not to make, not to import”
